Once upon a time, a pretty French woman (aka Lily) met a charming man from South Africa (aka Chris). Two years later, they invited all their friends and family to France to celebrate their wedding in a luxurious château near Nantes.
Two days before the big event, we packed my fluffy pink (the pinkest you’d ever see) bridesmaid dress and Andy’s smart blue usher suit and flew over the Channel. Our amis of adventures, Louise and Steve, travelled with us and kindly drove us around the whole weekend. One thing we didn’t know about them is that they love catching Pokémons!
Our first stop in France was our airbnb apartment, which was in a modern and colourful complex of Chapelle-Sur-Erdre. The town is surrounded by beautiful countryside, counting numerous castles and historic manor houses.
The wedding couple fell in love with one of them, the Château le Saz, and chose it as their reception venue. Who wouldn’t want a romantic fairytale castle for their wedding? This château was built in the 16th century and transformed into an exclusive restaurant in 2001.
The food was perfect and the decorations unique. Lily and Chris really went the extra mile to organise their day to the smallest details. It was super pretty and we just loved the travel theme!
